As expected both teams cruised to relatively easy 4-0 wins in the round of 64. The Wildcats and the Aggies tangle tomorrow (Saturday) at 4 at the Mitchell Tennis Center. We need a good active crowd to help propel the team into the sweet 16. If you are able get to Mitchell for the match.

I agree we should win, but stranger things have happened. I thought we played about as well as we needed to yesterday, but there was not much emotion or energy either on the court or in the stands. We will definitely have to raise it up a notch today.

Is there any place on the net to follow the scoring? I know the courts have webcams but you can't really follow the scores.

With the way Griggy was playing today, I think we've got a shot agains Ole Miss. For most of the match, he was able to do pretty much whatever he wanted.

This win is another step in restoring Aggie Tennis to national relavance. Getting to the Sweet 16 may not be the ultimate goal of many teams, but for us it has always been a benchmark of sorts for a successful season. While I wish we had held onto a 12 or 13 seed, the reality is that we would probably have to see Old Miss at some point. If at the beginning of the year you had told me that we would make the Sweet 16, have a doubles team in the main draw, and three singles players in the main draw, I would have taken it in a heartbeat. All in all the team made a big step forward this year, and have laid a solid foundation for next year.

Raven, I'm glad you brought up the individual players. I've been wondering for a while if anyone has an explanation of the exact methodology (or formula, as there seems to be) behind the singles/doubles rankings? And the team rankings, for that matter?

Never really understood it, except in the broadest generalization that they are based on results, especially in head to head match ups. It always has seemed pretty subjective to me, however.

Don't get to excited. The match was just as predicted. The tournament begins Thursday.
