This is easy to say now that we are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS, but I loved the format of the finals. Match play is beautiful golf.

Even if we'd not pulled it off on the last hole, or even the fact that is came down to the last hole, the match play made the finals 1000% more interesting. It's a completely different type of pressure to play under.

As a person who actually enjoys watching televised golf, I will be looking forward to next year's finals, whether we be there or not.

Very few times do major changes in formats work so successfully. But this one gets a BIG thumbs up from me.

works for me, but i'm sure OSU didn't end up liking the change too much. they were the runaway favorite after 3 rounds.

As I said, it's an easy compliment after the fact.

Without a doubt the change played to a disadvantage for some. In a traditional, stroke-play format (and I hope I'm not accused of "dogging" our golfers for saying this) I honestly don't think we'd be NATIONAL CHAMPIONS right now.

I simply love the match play rules in golfing. And, to me, it makes for FAR better television. The "drama" of the action is simpler to follow.

I think this is good for collegiate golf, not just because we happen to be the beneficiaries of the moment.

I strongly believe that A&M needs to change the format of the Aggie Invitational to mirror this format. It will bring in some big name programs and get teams prepared for this style.

It would be a huge move by A&M. It does take several days to pull it off. So, maybe 36 holes and then a cut, or 36 holes on day 1, 18 on day two and then cut, and then match play over 2 days.

OSU was THE BIGGEST proponent of this format and was the college pushing for the change.

I think when you talk to all the players and coaches involved, they will say that it was great...and you're right OSU was in favor of it in the first place

Match play gives us an entirely different type of NC. Some really good medal play golfers are not good match play golfers. The dynamics and pressure are just so different. I like the change also. It gets golf back to the way it has historically been played.

I love the new format. It did exactly what they wanted it to do by adding drama and making the championship round more intense.

The Austin paper would do anything to make our title seem less. Ask them about the baseball officiating. I bet they think that format is fine.
