According to aggieathletics.com our 2009 volleyball recruiting class is ranked 18th by PrepVolleyball.com. It's mostly middle blockers so hopefully they can mature quickly and step in to help right away since we just lost 4 middle blockers from last season (3 to graduation, one b/c she wants to focus on academics). The articles says 2 of the 3 could start right away (don't know if this is because of necessity or not) so hopefully they mesh well with the other players on the team and we can begin to turn this thing around and make the NCAA tournament.

I hope it works out...I have a feeling that the Corbellis are on the hottest seat at A&M right now...

this program needs to turn things around. floating around the mediocrity line just doesn't cut it anymore, especially for women's sports at A&M.

"Building Champions" does not apply to vb.

Compared to Women's track, soccer and basketball it's not building champions but compared to the Women's tennis team it is.

The same women's tennis team that went 9-2 in the Big 12?

The same women's team that very well might have advanced to the 2nd round if we win that tiebreaker and go a 3rd set in one of the mathces against SMU?

Women's tennis is nowhere near as good as most of our other women's teams, but they definitely have produced better than the volleyball team as of late. They still make the NCAA tourney and played a good SMU team really well despite 2 players missing because of injury/illness.

scratch that I can't read

If soemone sincerely thinks women's tennis meets the building champions criterion, then they only follow tennis at a very superficial level.
Their ranking was around 38. Finishing second or third in the Big 12 in Women's tennis is nothing to get excited about. The Big 12 is a very weak league. Baylor was the only team in the top 30 unless Texas may have squeezed in at 28 or 29. To put them in the same category as track, soccer, hoops or swimmming is frankly an insult to those programs.

SA,

Relax. No one said the women's tennis team met the building champions motto. No one put our women's tennis program in with track, soccer, hoops, and swimming? No one even said that we had a great women's tennis program.

You said that volleyball was building champions in relation to women's tennis, meaning that our volleyball program is doing significantly better than our women's tennis program. That is the only thing people are arguing with you about.
