I am not a huge fan of this move by Nieuwy. I understand that new GMs like to have their guys in as coach, but he should have given Tip a chance.
With a .65-ish winning percentage in his tenure, and all he battled through last season, he shouldve been given at least a couple months into next year. Not sure who we could get that will be as good of a coach as he is.
We had 2 division championships and this was the first year we missed the playoffs under him. and it took a LOT to make us miss them. Terrible start, locker room turmoil w/ Avery, lose Zubov, lose Morrow, get back on track, lose Richards, he comes back and we're 3 points out, and he gets hurt again.
If he got let go b/c of last season, the blame was misplaced. Sad to see him go. Great coach, great guy.
