Ags start Big XII play with a 3-0 win over Kansas. KU was undefeated in Non-conference play. Ags are now 14-0 all-time vs Kansas.

Nice start for the team. Also, Missouri beat Texas and Colorado beat Baylor. Does anyone remember how KU, MU and CU were predicted to finish in the conference?

The Pre-season Coaches Poll had Mizzou and Colorado tied for 3rd and Kansas 9th.

QUESTION: On the Aggie Sports Connection they were showing clips from the Ags Vball games over the week. #11 always had a different colored shirt (Team maroon, she was white or team white, she was in maroon). WHY? She is listed as a backup so my assumption that she was the captain is invalid.

The player in the opposite color jersey is the libero. This is a defensive position, new this year to college v-ball. On the international level Stacy S. is the libero for the US team. It is strictly defensive, unlimited subs, back row only.

I'm glad our girls got their first conference win...and in a decisive manner. We have a TON of talent on the team....but we lack the court experience. Even our seniors have not seen that much court time in their past 3-4 years. The upside to that is that they will only get better.

Anyone know why Rebecca Wynalda is playing Libero instead of Kelly Smalley? Rebecca has DEFINITELY improved over the past two years. I know someone on this board from west texas had asked about her. She is doing a great job. Just wondered if Kelly was injured (she was transfer and was listed as a DS)...or if this is a reward to Rebecca for her hard work.

I go to the games. Rebecca is doing the job, she can dig and has the speed and skills. They tried this combination in the first road trip and it worked. Kelly is also a good libero and will see time. Kelly also saw time as a back row (not libero) during the last tourney.
