I wonder if Bolt is going to cause a movement towards taller sprinters because it's obvious that his height is a huge advantage. I mean it's such a ridiculous advantage for him that it makes me wonder why there aren't more guys like him out there. Did they all just choose to go into different sports (e.g. football) rather than track?

Or is Bolt really just a freak of nature and a one-of-a-king person?

I'm not sure if it will be a movement TOWARDS taller sprinters, but I think that maybe people will stop viewing height as an automatic out of sprinting. Asafa Powell is almost 6'3, so he's really tall for a sprinter too. Justin Gatlin is listed at 6'1 officially, but I think that's much of a stretch.

Maybe the top track minds are just figuring out that taller sprinters have to run their race a different way. Then again, most guys that are 6'5 and can run the 100 in 9.5 would probably be in the NFL/NBA/EPL/ETC making 15 million$ a year + endorsements. Not that Bolt doesn't do well for himself, and avoids the higher risk of injury involved in other sports, but if he had caught on to a higher profile sport, he would likely be SO loaded.

He's got a very high strength/mass ratio, IMO. He's strong and quick and still has long strides.

He's less than 200, i believe. Most sprinters his height would weigh a lot more.
