The girls seem to have carried over the momentum from the end of last season. They won 5 of their first round matches in singles, and advanced 3 to the quarterfinals of doubles. Janelle had to retire with an injured ankle, hope she's ok.

No singles players made it to Qtrs. We are right on track for another 3rd place finish in a bad Big 12 conference.

:-/ No troll. This was before I saw the results of the next round. I was excited after they did so well in the first 2 days. Well, at least one of the doubles' teams will have a chance to play for the championship. Both knocked off t.u. doubles pairs in the prior round.

Urbina is playing well in the singles' consolation draw after a tough first round loss.

You're probably right, they'll probably be third again. But hey, they've gotta be better than last year, right? They didn't lose anybody and added Urbina. I wouldn't be totally surprised if they pulled off an upset and finished second.

Sounds like we have two doubles teams playing pretty well making it to the semis.

Hopefully our singles will come around as we get closer to the start of the spring season. With such a young team you figure there should be some good improvement from fall to spring.

Will finish 30ish in the country, lose 2nd round of the tournament to Baylor, SMU, TCU or t.u.

It seems odd how there's about 30 people on this board have intimate inside knowledge of the men's tennis team, which indicates that this stuff isn't that big of a secret, yet everyone likes to make vague statements with winky faces instead of giving real info. It doesn't make sense.

I think the reason a lot of us dont reveal it is because it may not be a total done deal for the guy to come in the spring. Klegou will be eligible in the spring, he had to sit out an entire year.

There should be a media release on the new guy pretty soon.

A top half of the lineup addition would be huge. Lunt at 6 would be pretty salty.

based on junior results, he fits in with grig, krajicek, dadamo, spencer, cook, matijevic, etc. i imagine he will find a spot in there with our top 5, depending on how he adjusts to college tennis.

Exactly. It's not any less embarrassing for the program regardless of you guys giving out a name, if the guy backs out at the 12th hour. And if you're a part of the program, and you think your "butt" would be on the line for telling us this recruiting information (which generally speaking has not been privileged as is evident by the texags user name), then not giving a name isn't going to make the powers that be any less mad at you.

Your inside info sucks. I could've said "I have a feeling we're going to add another player for the Spring Semester", because we almost always do, and I don't know anything. That info would've been as useful as anything you gave. "We're adding a player for the new semester, but I can't say who because it's not a done deal." Either answer indicates that there's a really good chance we're adding a player.

I think it just feeds peoples' egos to act like they know stuff, and if they tell us all what they know, then they won't be the ones with the big c**ks and the secret info anymore.

No, read it again. I didn't call anyone out, I was surmising why people didn't give the goods. Because if they DID tell people what they knew, then all of a sudden everyone would know their inside info, and they'd lose their secret. You had it the other way around.

If you feel you know something that you can't tell us, then nobody cares if you know, so keep it to yourself. If it's something that you can tell us, feel free to do so.

But we just don't need any of this "guy's tennis has a recruit, but "I can't tell you who it is or where they come from or how good he is or anything about him" is just obnoxious
