Looking to buy some new clubs...

I used to be a 13 handicap at A&M (I realy miss the all-you-can-golf for $100 at the A&M golf course), and am looking to start playing again after not playing for 4+ years. The problem is that I still have my $100 set of college golf clubs that I bought my freshman year (1+ years ago). I am sure that I can get back and even improve upon my old handicap, but I am clueless about what clubs to buy for two reasons:

1. I don't want to get beginner clubs, because I am sure when I get back to playing regularly, I don't want to compromise feel just have have a club that has a huge sweet spot. But, at the same time, I don't need blades, as I am not, and don't anticipate ever being consistent enough to hit them. So I need a nice set of irons that would be in the middle.
2. I have no idea what is currently out there or what to look for, as I am sure things have changed since I last bought some clubs, including my buying power.

If anyone can make any recommendations on a nice set of fairway woods as well, it would be much appreciated.

stick95, I recommend that you go to your nearest Golfsmith location and explain your situation to one of their reps. I have always found them to be very knowledgeable. If you are looking for a good set of perimeter-weighted clubs I would recommend either a used set or perhaps a set of XPC's - both can be found at any Golfsmith location. In case you were wondering, I do NOT work for Golfsmith, and I carry a 1.7 handicap. Good Luck.
