When will A&M announce its new recruits?

Probably in January, their new SID also works with football, so you can imagine how quickly he's going to get on updating swimming stuff...

Yeah, I told a friend on the team that I'd write the press releases for them for $10 a pop if their SID was too busy. That is a significant discount off of the market rate.

Also, all 3 days' worth of results link to the final day's results, so I've been trying to compare to the t.u. invite and haven't been able to. Lame.

Hey gobluewolverine: Just want to say I really enjoy your posts and especially your swimming posts overall. My daughter is a year around swimmer so I like to keep up with Aggie swimming. I was also a track athlete growing up & I like keeping up with the Aggie track team. Also, my wife is a Michigan Alum, so there's a connection with your user name as well.

But what about the rest? The women's class is impressive. Where's the news??

Some sports just have one or two sign... If I remember right, men's golf only had one sign.

So our elite women recruits are all walk-ons?

I was told by a former Texas swimmer that Eddie Reese made sure that every one of his swimmers was always given at least "books." Maybe worth $1000 per year. Does that mean they aren't walk-ons? Eddie has no more scholorships than A&M does.

Texas' tuition is way higher. I mean, scholarships still make everybody feel :-), but maybe Bultman doesn't need to do that. Also, he may save most (if not all) of his scholarship money for out-of-staters, because at A&M there's a rule that when you get a certain amount of scholarship $$'s, you only have to pay in-state tuition (I wanna say it's maybe $500 or $1000 per semester? Applies to everyone, not just athletes.)

No, sorry I meant the men's team. I assume the rest of the commits are walk-ons. Surely the women's are not.

Goblu - I don't think tu's tuition is materially different. According to www.collegeboard.com in state tuition to A&M is $8176 and tu's is $8930. Out of state tuition is much different - $22,606 for A&M and $30,006 for tu.

If Eddie gives books to his swimmers - it is probably about 1/30th of a scholarship for in state kids. But we know Eddie almost never gets a foreign kid though many of his best are out of state.

I still haven't heard a good reason for A&M not to announce its fall women's recruits.

Wow, has A&M's tuition really gone up that much already?? I just graduated in May, and I was only paying 4500 tuition and fees. I'm not sure that's an accurate figure on CB. Is it semester or annual? Because I thought t.u. was around 8k/semester.

The scholarship-in state rule applies to foreigners and out-of-staters, BTW.

I guess since we signed a top five prospect, the Men's swimming program is not in danger of getting cut!

Well if relevance = success, they're doing pretty damn good I'd say.
