So when does the new ranking come out? Since we beat LSU and they were ranked higher shouldn't we move up at least a couple spots? We moved up after a loss to Auburn. After we beat SMU, have some fast races against the sips and take second in the Big 3 championships where will be be heading into NC's? Any predictions? Any chance to be in top ten this year?

since diving isnt included in the in-season rankings (LOB correct me if im wrong there), i doubt well be ranked in the top 10. Not that ranking matters really, but it is a nice thing to see/say i guess. Id say we could hit the 13-15 range if we finish the season strong, like you said. I think the last ranking is a few weeks before the conference meets (once all the dual meets are complete)

Here's a link to the rankings for reference:

The polls (at least the CSCAA which is the major one) do their rankings by votes, much like football or basketball. So in theory, they can take into account anything they like, diving included.

The A&M team is such a mystery, that it's probably hard for the voters to really get a firm grasp on them. The tapers are so huge coming off of holiday training and going into Big 12's and NC's, it's expected that the voters would have us a little lower than where we truly rank. Depending on how the t.u. meet goes, and who else loses, I'd expect us to be right around 14 or 15 going into the Championship season. But obviously we'll be expected to finish higher than that at NC's.

Blastoff makes a lot of valid points -- the voting is based on, or at least should be, on swimming and diving. That said, the coaches are getting more info with which to make more educated decisions this year than in past years. Also, from what I understand, it is open to all head coaches and not a select few like in years past. It seems to be more based on W's and L's in dual meets right now as opposed to predicted NCAA finish (which is what it should be since it's a dual meet poll).

I agree that the men's dual meet ranking will be a higher number than our NCAA finish (at least I hope so)...but since the guys have done such an awesome job in dual meets this year it will at least be much closer than last year when they weren't ranked at all then finished 12th at NCAA's. I would hope that the Ags at least move up to 17th in the dual meet rankings based on the way the votes fell in the last poll. There seemed to be a big gap between 16 and 17 and 16 (Louisville) did well this past week also.

It's possible that all of the publicity from the Omar Enriquez record will help bump our ranking up just a little. Although the poll isn't as useful for a final standing, I enjoy giving a little more emphasis to dual meets. As has been brought up on the track thread, dual meets bring some added excitement for the fans.

Speaking of Omar Enriquez, I'm trying to do a little story on Enriquez for my site. If anyone is interested in contributing to this, please email me at askacoachSCT @ gmail.com . Also, I'm kinda new to this feature peace stuff, how would I go about getting some sort of email interview with Omar/the coaching staff about Omar? Would I try and contact the coach directly, or the SID?

Thanks guys.

What do you guys think about the Texas-Arizona meet this weekend (Men specifically?) Texas has been labeled invincible thus far, but Arizona looked REALLY good last weekend.
