Glad they won. I remember watching them loose all those years ago and how they kept saying it is such a disadvantage for competing nations if you are not the current holder of the cup.

Two thinks that I hated about this Americas Cup.

#1-ZERO coverage

#2-HATE, hate, hate a un-typical race like that, 2 trimarans going at it to me is not true sailing or what the America's cup is all about. Just my opinion.......and for the record, I have been sailing pretty much all of my life and had gone to a number of AC's events in San Diego.........hell I even met good 'ol Dennis Connor by mistake when i ended up in his trailer at his compound.

Yeah there is something majestic about a large single hull design crashing throught the water... but it is obvious unless they change the rules that these are here to stay. There is so much less drag on these boats. I remember in 1995 watching them lose, the AC was all over TV. Maybe now that it will be back in the US it will have TV coverage in 2013

Wow Can't spell this morning

The 33rd edition of the race was preceded by a bitter 2 ½-year court fight as Ellison and Alinghi boss Ernesto Bertarelli fought over their interpretation of the 1887 Deed of Gift, which governs the America's Cup.

Ellison's syndicate eventually prevailed, leading to a best-of-three, head-to-head showdown.

The America's Cup is expected to return to its normal system of several challengers competing for the right to face the defender and most likely the single hull will make its return......same thing happen back in '88 between Connor and NZ.
