It really just depends, there's more than one way to skin a cat. For example, this year, Stanford, who is a contender, is sending 12 swimmers, whereas Arizona, who is not, has the max 18 qualified. last year, Cal, who was the National Champ, had I believe 17 or 18 roster spots used. It's not about how many, it's about where they are. But 14 is definitely a good number with the quality we have, especially in the senior class (Kristen, Julia, Alia).
I scored the psych sheets this morning, and without diving A&M is 5th as seeded. Pretty big jump to 4th, Florida who also has good divers, and 3rd Cal, who doesn't. Divers alone won't make up the gap, but they'll certainly help push the swimmers that way. USC, in sixth, has probably the best diving squad of the top 10 teams, so we'll be fighting them off.
