Holy Jeebus. David Nolan shattered the old record by over a second (which was set this year) and is only a junior. That means in 2 years the NR in the 200 IM has dropped about 3 seconds. Time is 1:43.43

A&M has a student named David Nolan, and he went to Kingwood. Don't think he swam there, but Kingwood has a really good swim team. I'm sure we can parlay that into a recruiting tool somehow, right?

Absolutely incredible. The guy who finished 2nd swam a 1:50 but lost by seven seconds.

His race looked effortless. No obvious weaknesses. His walls were not Cole Cragin special - so he might improve more. His fly leg looked like a workout swim.

I just can't believe how badly he dominated Whitaker's time. Can't wait to see those two battle in college.

I can't get over that he may go under 43 in the 100 free next year. We have a good chance of seeing this kid in London in 2012. His turns I thought were sloppy. He still as a lot of improvement left in him.

Could we see a junior lower the record for the 3rd year in a row next year with Gray Umbach? That's a tall order since it is over 4 seconds faster than his state winning time this year but still possible thinks I. He dropped his time only 1/2 second from his time at state last year.

I like Umbach's chances better the year after (although even that would be a very tall order). There's no doubt that Nolan is going to make it even lower next season, I'm not sure that Umbach can drop enough time to surpass him next season.
