Not bad considering our soccer program has been in Texas's shadow for so long.

I have to respectfully disagree. Our soccer program has always been better than t.u.'s. They have never beaten us. It has only been in the last 2 years that the sips recruiting has gotten their talent level up to ours.

For some strange reason, the rankings people have been jumping all over themselves to rank the sips so high (and higher than us) when they really haven't played anybody to justify the ranking. Each time they have played us, we have proved this fact.

Unfortunately, sooner or later, they will finally beat us. But it wasn't tonight!

The Rankings people where jumping all over themselves because of Texas' coach. He was at Notre Dame while they where consistly a top 3 program and then transfer down here for more money. Thus, the writers will always be looking for him to succeed again.

That comment was made in the season preview article that was published on Aug 29th. I started a short thread about that article the day that it appeared and confirmed the date by locating that thread. Sorry that I can't provide a link. The article is surely in archives by now.
