And this is coming from someone who used to be a Fedor fan. He had his chance to go UFC, but wussed out.

not hard to believe really. he has fought rather carelessly the past few years. he managed to get out of a triangle and then fell immediately back into it.

he should have just let him stand back up and finish on his feet.

Hendo was a bust and Fedor is bolting after the next fight. He will redeem himself against Werdum and secure his legacy against the UFC fighters.

he showed up fat and had no regard for his opponent's abilities on the ground. a mentally ready fedor doesn't make those mistakes. he has been lackadaisical in his approach to mma for a few years now, and it hurt him this time. i fully expect him to rebound and dominate. maybe this will actually inspire him to get going again.

Alas, Fedor should have taken those millions Dana offered him. Anyone see the payout for that fight? $400,000 for Fedor. Unless he's got it locked up, I doubt Strikeforce will offer him that much again. Dana has no motivation to try to get him now.
More proof Strikeforce is the B league - Jake Shields officially signed with UFC. However, after he made it obvious he wanted to go to UFC, Strikeforce didn't even make him an offer. Thus, UFC was able to lowball him to some extent. Bad move on his part... I wonder how he's going to do at 170...
Anyone going to Strikeforce Houston? I bought my tickets. A B league event is better than none. Can't wait to compare it to the 2 UFCs I've been to.

On the 400K for Fedor, thats just the purse, correct? Doesn't he also get an undisclosed amount for co-promoting with M1? Similar to the Sylvia fight, I thought his total compensation was about 4 times what his listed purse was.

That strikeforce card in Houston looks weak...King Mo- Mousasi wouldve sold me but King Mo vs no notoriety calvacante is kinda cheap.

You may be right about the additional pay but i read that fedor reported $400k to the athletic comission. Maybe not. I'm not sure how they can afford to pay too much (unless its all tied in to m1) given that my $75 strikeforce houston tickets look to be about as good as my $250 for ufc. I went to 98 in vegas and also dallas. With the $250 seats, you can definetly see the fight when its standing but kinda need to watch the big screen when it goes to the ground. The experience is worth it. Also, you have to go to weigh ins. In vegas, I met pat barry (coolest guy you could meet) and rogan (who was high) and goldy and krsyztof. My significant other has never been to a live fight but we are going to strikeforce houston and I'm dying to go to another in vegas one. May even give up my mma gym membership to start saving not like I ever get off work in time to make classes
