American John Isner and Nicolas Mahut of France have been going at it since tuesday! The match was suspended due to light tuesday night and they proceeded to play all day today, only to have play stopped due to light again at 59-59 in the 5th set. All I can say is wow lol

I thought I saw a Texas A&M tshirt in the crowd, anyone else see that?

Sort of reminds me of a tournament I played in in HS. JV tournament was my first. I won the first round on a forfeit -- no show. The second round (quarterfinals), the guy was a much better overall player than I was, but he couldn't return my serve. We played a "superset" -- first one to 8 by 2, but I couldn't touch him in ground strokes and he couldn't do anything but hit my serve into the net, if he even got it. Neither one of us broke the other one. I don't remember the exact final score -- I got to 16 or 18 and won, but only because I wore him down -- returned his serves short and made him run while I just pretty much stood still. I got smoked in the semis but still got a third place trophy out of it.

Not 3 days, and unlike Wimbledon, pretty bad tennis, but still a lot of fun.

And it's over. Isner (USA) wins final set 70-68.

I don't know jack about tennis, but any event that lasts longer than an Ironman is pretty insane! Especially when you consider the high intensity of tennis. These guys were still serving over 130 mph last night!

They were both very good servers and very poor (relative to the tour) returners. 2 other sets went tie-break (meaning they were tied at 6 games in the set) and the other 2 sets were 6-4 and 6-3, likely meaning only one break (i.e. winning the other's service game) each set.

He came back in his second match and ended up bombing the crap out of it. ESPN did a stats comparison, and it was pretty incredible the difference. No aces, after setting a record for most aces in a match.
