#4 A&M gets #8 Texas & SMU in the regional, then we go to #3 UCLA in the S16 and THEN we're rewarding by a trip to #2 NC in Chapel Hill? How'd we get such a draw by NCAA?

No respect.

Winning will change that.

We did not get seeded in the top 8 teams in the country - admittedly, they are ALL hard at this point. If we can somehow get by NC, we will be in Austin for the championships and can pack the house! Way to go girls!

AgDog,

Yeah, but how? The Nebraska loss in the tournament final, even after the long winning streak? We got hosed...

I guess that's what happens when you live in the shadow of Texas's soccer program for so long.

shadow of Texas's soccer program? Texas has never ever beaten A&M in women's soccer at the NCAA level. 14-0. That would be some serious bias if we were in their shadow.

You missed some previous info. Shadow is a slam against news article.

The only reason that some people believe that we are in the shadow of Texas' program is because of coaching. Their coach was at Notre Dame during the height of their program's history. Alot of that history followed him and the truck load of cash to Austin.

More accurately stated, Texas is in a lunar eclipse of the Aggie Soccer program.

The NCAA draw was pathetic. Nebraska finished a distant 3rd in the regular season Big 12 standings and had a joke of a 1st 2 rounds compared to A&M and Texas. To not be a top 8 seed is irrational.

True

Actually Two of the top four seeds didn't even make it to the final 8.

West Virginia and Pepperdine

I think they need to seed the top 32 and then place the rest in the nearest region. On a national women's soccer board they all agree that Texas, A&M, and UCLA got screwed. UCLA should have been at top 4 seed and A&M a top eight maybe top 4. They gave too much weight to Pepperdine beating Santa Clara and Portland. The Big 12 doesn't get much respect across the nation. A win this weekend will make a major step towards affirming that we are a national powerhouse.

We've made it to the final 8 two years in a row by overcoming our bracket disadvantages. Doesn't final 8 two years in a row get you enough respect to be considered a top 8 seed in the future assuming we keep playing at our current level? It would be horrible for this to happen again next year if we continue with this success (some would say any year).

We have to beat the best eventually to get the NC. Might as well play them early and get 'em out of the way. We can do it - we've been doing it. We will do it. Gig 'em Aggies. Beat the Class of 1975 hell outta North Carolina.

Its a westcoast and an east coast bias. Someday the gulf coast will get some respect!

Would we be in the west region? Seems like a hose job to not have a I-A representative closer than USC to the west, Wake Forest to the east and MSU to the north. Maybe the Mtn West rep is closer, but that's still TERRIBLY slanted away from the midwest and southwest...
