The never-met-a-dual-meet-they-didn't-like Texas women no-showed their meet at Auburn and now have to face #2 Georgia in Athens.

Did Brackin finally figure out resting for dual meets is not good in the grand scheme of things (even though she likely did at least once in the fall and at their invite)? Did Auburn rest to try to get the W? Did both happen? How bad is Georgia going to blow them up on Saturday?

Thoughts?

they just came back from a training trip at the Olympic Training Center, my guess is they are pretty dead. and yes, Brackin probably has figured out that winning duel meets doesnt directly result in success at NCAA's. my guess is Georgia lays the pipe to them.

I once watched an Auburn/tu dual meet (men) in Austin. It didn't look to me like either team was too worried about the outcome. This is just a guess, but I doubt Auburn rested at all for this meet. It just looks like their girls were just a bit faster.

Most of the times look like typical in-season times. Hard to believe Auburn doesn't have someone faster than 1:49 in the 200 free. I doubt tu is any faster at Georgia. tu could get beat solidly again.

What do you mean by "my guess is Georgia lays the pipe to them?"

Are you implying that the Georgia women look like plumbers? Not necessary.

My next question would be if both teams were beat up, why did Auburn beat them so badly? Texas is just as talented and Auburn had winter training themselves. Not only that but Hawke has obviously had some trouble figuring out how to get his women to swim fast. As bad as Texas was at the end of last year, he made Brackin look like Doc Counsilman pretty much all season long in 2009-10.

All things said, I find the results of that meet pretty intriguing

Just eyeballing our times from the double dual in Dallas last week - we would have lost to Georgia, Auburn, and tu.
