For a team everyone is down on, this was a solid win. Though I only heard about second hand from someone at the match... Hope someone will post updates.

Any win is a good win, but LSU lost 5-1 to tech last weekend and is pretty bad this year.

Luckily we have a pretty good schedule this year and are catching TCU and Fresno teams coming up that are weaker than usual. Don't get too excited til Washington comes to town. That could be ugly.

Season prediction 14-11, NCAA 1st round loss or 2nd if we get a good draw. Ranked about 35ish. Same as usual.

Always fun to win your season opener. Hopefully they can build some momentum from it.

Do we have some injuries right now? Will players be returning?

Does this mean they'll make it past the first round at the NCAA?

All the girls played, but Janelle and Sheri only played doubles. Probably a good thing that sheri only played dubs, shes got a one dimensional game in singles, and when its bad, its really bad.

Not sure why Janelle didn't play, but look for her in the singles lineup soon, I would think. Lauren can't win a match to save her life, even at 6, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't bump her out of the singles.

Maybe Janelle is still working back into two-match shape after her long layoff. Or maybe, given Lauren's newfound fame, it's a ploy to get more fans to the matches. But probably, Bobby is still experimenting with figuring out his best lineup. Lauren showed some flashes as a freshman, but hasn't been able to build off of that momentum.

True, LSU isn't great. But our top two were dominant, over good competition, and that's something that can keep you in a lot of matches.

Sheri is pretty one-dimensional. With the right partner, this can work out in doubles. When she can hit her shots to the baseline, she can be a dominant bottom-of-the-lineup player because she's so strong. But when she gets into those ruts where she's just a little long on everything, it seems to spiral quickly.

LSU is awful and has been for quite a while. Maybe one of the most under-achieving women's teams, given the school's resources and success in other sports. Similar to us, but their embarrassing tennis facility and weak academics make it nearly impossible to get really good players.

That said, a win is a win. Hopefully the girls can get some momentum going.

I think BK will take a win however he can get it.

LSU isn't very good, but like I said, they still have two pretty good players at the top of their lineup. I think their #1 is ranked 33rd in singles. That's a good win for Urbina.

Urbina is awesome, no doubt about that. Morgan is a very solid #2 as well and you think that it wouldn't be that hard to recruit 3-6. The new Potgieter seems to have gotten the memo from her older sister and instead of starting great and slowly Kleinecking into mediocrity has decided to just tank from the get-go.

Props to Nazari, also, because she flew in Sunday morning from Argentina, played Fed Cup for Mexico over the weekend.
