* what an efficiently run meet. I heard college meets were run more on schedule but this was to the T
* what amazing athletes. Having been to HS and AAU / youth meets, it is amazing what these athletes are capable of
* seeing that Indiana guy clear 7' 7" on high jump was unbelievable.
* very glad I sat at the bottom of section 12. Not the most expensive tickets, but I couldn't imagine a better seat unless you wanted to watch throwing events.
* 4x400m relays are unbelievable to watch. Seeing Jessica toy with the field before just blowing them away was the highlight of the day
* Some 50 year old Pac 10 fans sat on the row in front of us - - some had Oregon and some had Stanford gear on. They all leave for a bit except one woman. After the 3000m mens final is over, she is shellshocked. I mean, like she has seen a ghost. She starts to mutter words slowly and says " I . . . can't . . . believe it. That . . . was my . . . son. He was . . .not supposed to do this . . . " Her son from Stanford just took over the last 75m's and won handlily. She talked to us for a great while about following her son and how not every meet went quite like this. I was incredibly happy for HER, she was so genuinely blown away.
* the athletes freely walk the crowd. They are getting concessions, going to the same bathrooms. Not something you see at basketball or football for sure.
* celebrity sighting - Danielle Adams showed up and had to have come directly from teh airport because the Big 12 final could not have been more than three hours earlier. Also saw Gary Blair.
* my kids are trained by the guy that trained Illinois' hurdler Andrew Riley. He won outdoor and indoor this year. They got to hang with him for a bit and that was quite cool.
* because of the pace of events, this was one of the better NCAA events I have been to. SO much action in so little time. I wish A&M could have won one of the titles, but 2nd and 5th are admirable.
* you are reminded that this is not a pretentious meet. Besides seeing Arkansas sprinters in the bathrooms without shoes you would hear the PA say thinsg like "would the Wisconsin women please pick up their shots?" or somesuch.
* Saw a flyer for the NCAA "after party" being held at the Best Western. This has to be the highest profile event in the Best Western's history.
* why did Gerald Phiri not attend medal ceremony?

Well done TAMU. Well run event!!!

I felt like National Anthem to Award Ceremony on Saturday was some great track and field. I think even non-track fans would enjoy the pace of that part.
