Most of the remaining American players should be finalizing their commitments this week.

Okie State women landed 2 blue-chip players from Out of State.

Aggie women have Janine Erasmus coming in. ITF Rankings put her roughly equivalent to a top-20 domestic recruit.

Aggie men have nobody listed yet. Must be international players on their way, because there's a lot of money to give out on that side (and a lot of big roster holes to fill up).

I have heard that the women are signing two more girls that are better than Erasmus. I believe they are getting the top junior college player in the nation. Not sure of the names, but I have heard that they are very good! The girls will be much better next year sounds like to me.

There is a girl from Tyler JC, Sun Wen, who was the top JC rated girl back in the fall. JC individual rankings haven't been updated yet.

Sun Wen has done well against other junior college players, but in the only Division 1 matches she has played this spring she has lost 6-2, 6-1 to Rice's #1 player and 6-1, 6-1 to Lamar's #1 player.

I know that Rice's girl is very good and went 3 sets with Nazari and this Sun Wen may be good, but she doesn't seem like a superstar.

But then again I guess we don't need superstars, we just need girls that can win at #4,5,6!

Exactly Harry. College tennis is a singularly unique sport...your 2 best players can fail every time, and you can still win National Championships.

Not that we will...but if the top JuCo player is good enough to win 70% of her matches at the 6-line, then that's still a huge upgrade. Even if she gets smoked by a 1-line player, she's got that "top dog" mentality from carrying a team, and if she can play with that same intensity at a 5 or a 6, that is GOLD.

I think next year reverses the trend, and in 2013 we're dangerous again.

In response to a post in a different discussion about Mark not having much control over recruiting isn't entirely accurate from what I have heard from being out at the men's and the women's matches. Obviously Kleinecke is the main coach, but I hear that Mark is very much involved in the recruiting process. I am eager to see if anything different evolves this year and the next with the new recruits coming in.

Not an excuse but Sun played at Rice the last Sunday of Spring Break after not having a practice all week. She will be a solid mid line-up player. She is also one of the nicest girls you will meet.
For what its worth.

Check those stats on his profile. 4-4 vs. Blue Chips, 6-0 vs. 5 stars. 6-0 vs. 4 stars. No losses against 3, 2, or 1-star players either. He could be an above-averange at the 1-line in time, but it looks like he's a killer 2 or 3 the second he steps on campus.

He's very young and has some things to work on, but he's a great competitor and a ridiculously hard worker. Plays an all-court game and can anchor a team in doubles. Top half of the lineup is a bit optimistic for an 18 year old freshman, but I'd imagine that he will get some playing time right away.

One of the nicest, most respectful guys you will ever meet, as well. Glad he's an Aggie.

That analysis would be right on for a girl, but top half of the lineup against the teams we play is a lot tougher than 5 star 18 year-olds.

Remember Austin K was undefeated against blue chips and even Junior Ore had better junior results. I think more realistic is to think that he will contribute in doubles and play low in singles.

Time will tell where he finally plays, but I think Harry may be spot on in the early going. Regardless, another great pick up for Steve and Bob. Great article that is linked.

I think it's going to be a good team. Junior, Szabo, Withrow, and now Jeremy. It's good recruiting. Should be a solid team
