Puts us in 4th place with a bye in the first round and likely a rematch against tech in the quarters of the Big 12 tournament. Ranked 30 this week, this probably puts us in the 20s and hopefully a 2 seed in the NCAAs.

4th place and a ranking in the high 20s is not something to hang banners about and I'm sure AggieXI and others will chime in with the usual "fire Kleinecke" talk but I think that in this improved Big 12 with 8 ranked teams, its a pretty good result. Especially since we were in a position to finish 7th and maybe not make the tournament at all before these last two clutch wins against Nebraska and tech.

Anyway good job to the team and here's to a strong finish and some good recruiting to build on this year.

Big win. Hopefully we can beat them again in the tourny and improve our ranking even further prior to the NCAA brackets coming out. There's going to be at least two regionals in the Texas/Oklahoma area this year, and maybe that will help us get the easier two seed among them.

Good win for the ladies, and a little more than I expected this year. Hope they can get out of Baylor or Texas regional and get away from the normal opponents.

What does a 2 seed in the NCAA mean? There are only 16 seeds, right?

#2 out of 4 teams at the regional. 64 teams go, so the #1 will usually be one of the top 16 teams in the rankings, the #2s will usually be 17-32, etc.

What we really need to start shooting for is being a #1 so that we don't just get sent to Waco for another second round loss, but #2 and playing a team ranked 33 or worse is much better than being a #3.

Impressive ending to the regular season! Seems like the girls have stepped it up a notch and playing with some added confidence and determination! Hope they can continue throughout the Big 12 tournament and the NCAA's. Any thoughts out there on the turnaround?
