Has any school ever won a NC in M&W Track three years in a row?

Has it ever been done in ANY sport? (baseball/softball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, swimming for example.)

Stanford swim 92-93-94 did it on both sides.

Auburn swimming twice in the last decade has come one title short of pulling it off (aka, double double, plus a single on one end).

Texas swimming was the 1989 women's title away from doing it 4 years in a row (88, 90, 91).

I imagine you might find one or two more (and in different sports) if you go back to before the NCAA added women's sports in 1982. But definitely tough, especially in the modern era where there's so much more parity.

would be amazing if we could pull it off

UCLA Basketball is irrelevant to the OP question, as is 'three-peat' unless you can point to a double 'three-peat'.

Pat Henry's LSU squads pulled off the double-double twice I believe, but he is the only coach to ever do it.

kadejonah- UCLA's never even done it ONCE, much less three times...

UCLA won both volleyball championships in 1984.

So yes, they actually have done it once (as an athletic program). They have indeed not done it three years in a row.

Edited for Analogy Ag

Yep.

And I'm talking about doubling in any sport, in case you didn't get that.

It's obvious to all we were talking about basketball, and I said they've never even done it once. Then you said "so yes, they actually have done it once". You obviously were not aware we were talking about basketball, or else your post makes absolutely no sense.

Analogy your first question - double three-peat in track ever been done?

Your second question - double three-peat in any sport ever been done? Seems to me volleyball falls in the 'any sport' category.

JR for the win.

Also, I can read. I know y'all were talking about UCLA basketball.

you can lead a horse to water.... its obvious that 2011's retort was in response to my comment that UCLA hadnt done it once, which was in response to the "google UCLA basketball" comment.

if you can't follow logic in an argument, that's okay, but don't keep trying to respin it.

I just saw your edit- yeah, if you had written that in the first place, no problem. I think you understand the logic now. And 69, his post was in response to my comment, not the original post.

Don't they still teach logic in Aggieland????

Anyways, seems as though swimming is the only sport where the triple-double has been done (which is not surprising).

I was responding to the original question you asked.

You asked...

quote:
Has it ever been done in ANY sport? (baseball/softball, basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, swimming for example.)

Someone suggested they did it in basketball. You and other established they didn't.

I then said...

quote:
UCLA won both volleyball championships in 1984. So yes, they actually have done it once. They have indeed not done it three years in a row.

I can understand why you took the conotation of "actually" that you did, sorry that I apparently hit a nerve, but after I've told you that wasn't my intent to pop-off to you, I don't understand why it's an issue.

I just saw your edit- yeah, if you had written that in the first place, no problem. I think you understand the logic now.

I originally figured I didn't need to explicitly state that I can read and thus saw you and kadejonah were talking about basketball or that volleyball is not basketball.

Ok, I'm done. Why is this still a talking point?!?!
