Aggie men and women hosting their first and second round matches this weekend. Men took out Alcorn State pretty routinely yesterday, 4-0. Today at 3pm they play LSU, who barely escaped Indiana 4-3 yesterday, after being down 1-3. There have been a lot of great A&M/LSU matches over the years, hopefully this one is another convincing win for the Ags. Last chance to see seniors Austin Krajicek, Jeff Dadamo, and Alexey Grigorov battle for the maroon and white on their home courts.

The Aggie women take on SMU in round of 64 action today at noon, which should be a very competitive match. The winner will take on national 12th seed Florida State tomorrow, as they should have no problem getting past Southern today. Last chance to see Aggie seniors Morgan Frank, Christi Liles, and Stephanie Davidson playing in front of the home crowd.

Aggieland will be packed today with graduations and baseball and softball games, but we need a lot of Ags out at the Mitchell Tennis Center to yell for the Ags and help get the men's and women's tennis teams back in the Sweet 16. Women at 12pm, men at 3pm. Let's go Ags!

I am fine, SMU deserved to win, they started great with singles after some ugly doubles.

I was a neutral fan yesterday, I cheered for both teams, so it was a good day for me

SMU women beat #12 FSU 4-3 today and will face Baylor in the sweet 16.

All 3 regional 1 seeds that did not get to host did not make it out of the second round

Our women's tennis team . . . is not good. We are hosting for God's sake! And we get beat by SMU first round at home? And the match is freaking CLINCHED for SMU by one of our cast-offs? So, one of our girls who "was a low-tier player for us" transfers out. Who knows, maybe she felt she wasn't improving so she wanted to go somewhere where she could. And apparently, she did just that. And then, a couple of years, that same kid has actually IMPROVED. But it IS hard to tell. What was our combined record this year in positions 4-6? Well, at least we have a pretty stadium to watch our girls lose in . . .

well, the reason for turpin transferring is slightly more complicated than that, but your point about the success/or lack thereof of the bottom three spots as been the downfall of the last few years.

The fact that we hosted the womens regional was a joke in itself. No reason FSU should have been traveling this weekend.

Turpin had no intentions of playing anymore when she left Aggieland, but got the fever this year. She was actually out of the lineup for 6-8 weeks with a broken foot, and barely played singles in the CUSA tourney two weeks ago, losing a deciding three setter in the finals. Quite happy for her, just sucks they had to play here. Meisner at SMU is doing a great job with the girls she has up there.

Another close match with SMU in the tourny. Surprised we didn't pull off the win, we seem to play well against them most of the time. Turpin's year here, she actually almost pulled off an upset at the 6 line when Elze was out sick, in her first significant action of the season, in the tourny against SMU. She was a big-time recruit coming out of HS, but watching her play didn't instill a ton of confidence in her future at the Big 12 level either...I'm happy for her (I guess).

Disappointig end from the women. I thought they had been playing better leading into this match.

I'm glad it's worked out for Turpin. I wish she was winning matches as an Aggie, but I'm glad she's doing well.
