I don't follow our 4x100 all that much but there is the perception we struggle with handoffs. I was watching the Big XII finals and we screwed up at the second exchange.
Our relays no longer are concerned with winning. There is no challenge in that anymore. So what competition is left? Records. And that is what they are trying to break every time they go out there. So they push every part of the race including the passing of the baton. If they would just slow down and take the time to ensure a proper handoff we would never lose a relay.

I have to disagree. The 4x100 has not had good handoffs this year, but not because they are trying to set records. Also, without close to perfect handoffs they will not will nationals this year.
Most of the problems this year have been on the last handoff and I think that is in large part due to having a freshman on the last leg.
I expect the results to be good in the last two meets of the year, but you never know what may happen. The 4x100 is the most difficult relay to make handoffs and timing has to be really good. Hopefully the ags get the handoffs down and score big points in the 4x100 on their way to a 3rd straight national championship.
I would be satisfied to get any points this year in the 4x100......we were DQ two years ago and last year we dropped at the first exchange....zero points! (And still won the dang meet!!)
