Post-championship conversation with track coach Pat Henry -- LINK

I caught up with legendary A&M track and field coach Pat Henry this week to look back on winning the double outdoor title for an unprecedented third straight year, look ahead to 2012 and more.

A little later than I would have liked, but I was in Tallahassee and then Omaha and Coach Henry had the U.S. Championships last week. But we got it done and I thought you would enjoy it if I made it free. Enjoy!

Great interview.
Now for a serious question...
Has there "ever" been a more successful collegiate coach in any sport, any where, at any time??
I don't know of one.
We're very fortunate to have Mr. Henry.

TAMU74 I am in total agreement about Coach Henry being an exceptional track coach...perhaps the best ever! But basketball fans at UCLA may take issue with calling him the most successful college coach ever...after all they did have John Wooden.

It was amazing how things fell into place.
The Florida sprinter Demps does not qualify in the 100 and drops the baton in the 4 x 100.
A Tech 400m runner comes in 2nd ahead of 2 Aggies but gets disqualified giving us 2 points. A Tech hurdler and another hurdler fall and don't finish and the Aggie gets 3 points instead of 1. On the women's side Jordan Hasay of Oregon, who won the mile and 3000 here in March finsishes well back in the 1500 and 5000.
Watching on tv with the 4 x 400 coming up I couldn't believe we in a position to win.
