Started today. Was looking at the psych sheet & saw that Q. Carrozza changed teams to Nitro. Nitro is pulling in some of the best swimmers from other teams!

I have a quick dumb question about juniors. I've been out of the swimming circle for a few years. Did they bring back the old juniors format and scrap sectionals? Do they have both? Is it a big deal for high school kids at all?

I don't know what the old format was. Jr. Nationals has qualifying standards. I believe if you aren't too old (> 18?) and make the times - you qualify.

They still have Sectionals, but I don't believe they play a role in qualifying.

There's a huge debate about whether to go back to something more similar to the old system, but for now it's just qualifying standards. With how huge Nationals has become, 1800 swimmers this year, people would like to see it changed.
