Damn that is a long roster!

Looks like a small freshmen class overall - makes sense after last year's big one.

Morris - very solid 100/200 1:51/51 swimmer from SA Reagan
Salinas - looks like a solid 50 free (23 low but not at state)
Benjamin - strong 50/100/200 23low/59/1:49 free from Arizona; backstroke too?
Bosma - 50/100/200 free 23mid/50/1:50 from GA
Neubert - 100 fly/50 free? 55/23+ from TX
Quirke - ?? from New Zealand
Hammond - diver from FL; dove at Worlds trials

Looks like we added sprint freestyle and a very strong diver. I don't know about Quirke.

Here's a full preview of the women's team, including info about Quirke and other freshman.

Also, Cammille Adams made the National Team!

Not only is that exciting for her, it's a pretty big deal for the program, especially since she went on representing Aggie Swim Club. That means all kind of new support, travel expenses paid to big meets (where she'll presumably place high and bring even more exposure to the program), Frank Busch will probably spend some time on campus, it will open up a ton of learning opportunities for the coaches, etc.

That is great news about Camille. Very impressive for her and great for A&M. I can't help but believe Breeja should have been on that team too if not for her health problems this summer.

BTW - your article about the women's team is great now and was great weeks ago when you linked us to it.

Also Rebecca St. Germain, transfer diver from LSU.

A top LSU diver was essentially kicked off their team last year for repeated violation of team rules. Is that who transferred to A&M?

I think St. Germain hasn't gotten clearance quite yet to compete for A&M this season.

Aggie-matic - haven't heard anything about that one way or the other. I know she dove out the season through zones - was the diver in question kicked off after the season? There are only two divers on the 2010-2011 roster, and the 2009-2010 roster...and the other one besides St. Germain is still on the 2011-2012 roster...

I heard through the diving community that LSU "kicked off its top diver" after the season was over. That is partly why their roster is so thin. Said diver repeatedly committed many team rules violations (for example unreliable practice attendance after parties). Eventually LSU said enough is enough. If our transfer is this person - I hope she is different in CS than she was in Baton Rouge.

It looks like it was a different LSU diver. They lost both St. Germain and at least another. St. Germain did very well at LSU and apparently wanted to get back to Texas.

edited to add new info on St. Germain's reasons for coming to A&M.
