I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Bryan/College Station Soccer League. The BCSSL is quickly becoming the premier soccer league for all in the Brazos Valley for players 16 years old and up. The BCSSL replaced the now defunct Brazos Valley Soccer League and has been lucky enough to have a leadership group that includes a variety of community minded individuals including attorneys, scientists, engineers, and students. It is our intent to promote good sportsmanship and friendly competition and provide amateur players with the opportunity to compete in regularly scheduled matches.

The BCSSL is a "non profit" organization and all matches are insured. In addition, the League has joined TSSAS this year. The BCSSL offers year-round play with three sanctioned seasons. The League is now looking to expand its geographic area, the number of teams participating, the skill level of players, and its sponsors. The divisions include:

1. 1st Division-High skill level players, both male and female, 11 players per side.
2. 2nd Division-Skill level varies, both male and female, 11 players per side.
3. 3rd Division-Skill level varies, both male and female, 6 players per side.

In addition, the League (depending on demand this summer) hopes to create the following divisions:

4. 4th Division-Beginner skill level, both male and female, 11 players per side.
5. 5th Division-Skill level varies, men over 30 and women, 6 players per side.

The registration fee is $50.00 per player. This registration fee includes referee fees and all other expenses for the season. Many teams obtain sponsors to help defray registration fees and uniform costs. Some of the current sponsors include the law firm of Hoelscher, Lipsey & Elmore, P.C., College Park Apartments, Dudley's Draw, and Fitzwilly's. Each player is required to wear the same color jersey as his or her teammates and each player must have his/her own numbered jersey or shirt.

Players are allowed to play on one team in both the 3rd Division and/or the 1st or 2ndDivisions. The additional fee for playing on a second team is $10.00. A team may have an unlimited number of registered players, however a maximum of 18 players may participate in a 1st or 2nd Division match.

A registration event will be held at the Northgate Promenade on January 29thfrom 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The spring season should start around February 2nd!
