The press release said the SEC does not sponsor equestrian, but I know Auburn and Georgia has teams.

As does South Carolina. This would give them four and likely give them an SEC Championship meet (and kill the Big 12's as they go from four to three schools).

The SEC schools are much more nationally competitive overall than the BIg 12's. The only teams that ever beat us for the overall national title are the SEC teams. Us moving east kicks up the level of that conference's western side, which we have long dominated at, to the level where their English side has always been. The SEC has been the class of English riding since they picked up equestrian and second place hasn't even been close.

Auburn has one of the best, if not the best, equestrian in the country.

A few years ago Auburn had the only varsity equestrian team in the SEC. I don't know if that is still true. At LSU it is a club sport.

Auburn is the reigning national champ. There have been three varsity levels equestrian teams in the SEC dating back to approximately 2003.

Looks like the Big 12 will now be able to keep their conference championship in equestrian with the addition of TCU to the fold.
