1:00pm....big game today..a win will give them at least a 9-7 record and an outside shot at finishing 10-6 with a victory over Oklahoma, Texas or Iowa State.
Mellanger had some offensive production against Baylor, Sawatsky set place is getting a bit better and our hitting percentage has risen in conference to third. If this carries over we can get at least a share of third or even outright third. The team when serve recieve is on and back row play stays consistant has shown flashes of Top 20 level play.
We are now playing for seeding with our RPI and how we finish against the top 4 other Big 12 teams in my opinion is going to weigh in on committee's decision. One stat that is universally correlated to winning is hitting percentage. Mike Hubert (former Minn coach) said you could go down the list of teram hitting percentage and that would basically be the same for conference finish. We are third with Iowa St, Texas, Us, Oklahoma and Missouri in top5 . These are the same four final opponents. Our RPI is high (mid20's last I saw and although I would say that is a bit high vs a ranking we could if playing well going into NCAAs could get a win and depending upon who we match up against could steal another Sweet 16.
