Cannot make the game , but will be there in spirit. tu did not have a side during my day, so I never got a shot on a burnt orange jersey. Ask one of the current ruggers to get a lick in for the former players.

I was hoaring in a game for SHSU against tu once back in 90...At that time I was a bit lighter than I am now and was playing as a wing(r). I was in close for a throw in and some tu forward was talking smack (and wasn't very good) so I went in and dropped him...moral of the story:

I wish I could be there (long trip from DC). I hope you guys can get through the TRUs undefeated and go put in on Air Force in the Westerns. In any event, it is good to see A&M back on top and battling tu for the top of the union. tu used to be horible in the early 90s. In my day the teams to beat were Rice and SWT. I think we went 1-7 vs Rice in my tenure and they kept us out of Westerns every year. Good luck and see you guys at Old Maroon next year (hopefully, sooner).

BTW, this is my 1st post on TexAgs, but it seemed fitting to make my 1st post one about rugby.

Ags travel to Norman next weekend to take on the Big 12 tournament.

Not keeping in touch with how national champs are decided, does winning the Big12 tourney get the team into the playoffs, or does the winner of the college TRU get a bid? TAMU, 1974 Rugby National Champions

The TRU will receive two seeds in the Western Collegiates, which is a final 8 format. Depending on other factors, the TRU may be the only team that goes to the playoffs.

My name is Allen King. Who are you? I played rugby at A&M from 89-93. One of the few Corps guys on the rugby team at the time. Most of my career I did mostly play in the backs (inside/outside center), but I split time as the starting scrumhalf during much of my junior and senior year when Leo Perez started having many of the problems with his wrist. "Best looking forward"?!?! You don't set a very high bar for yourself then. If you do remember me, you will remember I won the 'Ladie's Man Award' for the 91-92 season, but I guess only "pretty-boy" backs could aspire to ever win something like that!!!

I continue to play for PAC up here in DC, but I don't know how much longer my body will let me.
