Women in 2nd, Men in 3rd after day 1. Kansas women, Texas men leading.

Men's distance group really coming around, which makes them even scarier. 5,000 school record goes down, and Distance Medley Meet Record goes down (by a second and a half). That's huge after how bad we've been in that race the past few years (still not an elite time, but a big step forward none-the-less).

We already had an auto-qualifier for the NCAA meet in the distance medley. The lineup was a little different this time, probably to account for spreading people around in the right events to try and win the meet. Qualified well for finals today on both sides, so we'll see how it shakes out.

The Ags had a great day yesterday and will win both titles barring a meltdown. Texas men were hurt by the injury to Sheroid Evans that took him out of the 200 and 400.

Any idea what happened to the women's DMR? This was a disappointing area given their past times.

I think the best times that the womens DMR have come with Natosha Rogers running the anchor. She finished 2nd in the 5000 in the race right before the DMR. She is also running in the 3000 today. There was no way she could run those races back to back so she did not run the DMR.

Anyone else see the men's one mile? Dork from osu thought he had it won and hot dogged the last few steps to get passed by a guy from Isu.

Folks we have another Porscha Lucas on our hands - freshman Kamaria Brown just posted a 22.86 to win the Women's 200 meters in the current fastest time in the world.

Edit to correct: Ties Porscha Lucas' Big 12 meet record and is shy of the facility record by .06 sec.

The OSU guy losing the mile by hot dogging it was priceless and should become a YouTube hit.

Believe it or not I've seen several come close to doing the exact same thing. I'm sure every college and HS track coach will have a copy of that race to drive home the point that you push all the way across the finish line and leave the show boating to the NFL millionaires.

What was great about the men's mile finish was that they ran the replay of the finish on the big screen in the building and the dude had to watch it. Next best thing was seeing Marquise Goodwin from tu false start in the 60 meters and get Disqualified. He couldn't believe he got caught cheating, I mean, leaving early. Well, tu can have the conference all to themselves next year and can set their own rules.
