How come the Red Wings are ranked behind San Jose, which has 75 pts, but the red wings have 89 pts. Is it based on head-to-head.

The announcers said if San Jose loses their next game, the Dallas Stars will jump from 7th to 3th place in conference. Did Detroit get in trouble?

The 3 division winners are always ranked 1, 2, and 3 based on who has the most points. The remain 5 teams with the most points are then ranked 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.

Phoenix is winning their division so they are ranked higher than a non-division winner (Detroit) even though Detroit has more points. The stars would jump some teams that have more points that are in another division because they will be first in their division.

Thanks. I thought they were caught cheating, or something so they couldnt get higher than fourth place.

Without Datsyuk, Lidstrom, Howard, Bertuzzi and Ericsson, by one goal, in Philly.

A) Pronger and JVR are nowhere close to the list above (#1 F in the NHL, top-5 D, top-5 G).

B) 1997.

They aren't the only ones out.
