Some did not do as well as expected, but others did better, some much better. Seems like we will be in contention for the two titles for years to come.
It's great to be an Ags, especially here in the middle of SEC Country.
Now, let's work on getting an outdoor facility. These kids and coaches deserve a great one, at least on par with Hayward Field.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer. Frank Zappa, US musician, singer, & songwriter (1940 - 1993)
I didn't think I would enjoy watching a long distance race, but Rogers did a great job. Love to see the determination to the finish and the emotions after the race.
Texags need to do an interview with Rogers and Lelei.
You'd be surprised about long distance races. I've been going to track and field events over 50 years and by far the most entertaining and exciting race I ever saw in person was the 10,000 meter finals in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
I know this has been discussed before and may have its own thread, but I agree with MTAggie and find it amazing and sad that The Ags with all their tremendous success recently in track have not hosted an outdoor meet since 2004. I know they have a state of the art indoor facility, but they really need to get this together and build an outdoor facility. Graduating senior have 3 national tiles in their resume, but never competed outdoors before a home crowd...that is sad!!Anybody know where that stands right now?
Amazing job by Rogers. She may be the most outstanding women's athlete this year at A&M. At an indoor meet this year I was impressed by how she just attacked the track. After being 2nd in both the 3000 and 5000 in the Big 12 indoors she is National Champion in the 10000. As far as an outdoor facility, all it takes is funding.
We have a current swimmer that broke an American/World Record at NCAA's and another that may crack the U.S. Olympic Team in the next month but Rogers is no doubt the best female distance runner in A&M history. Job well done by her.
I just watched the 10k replay on ESPN3. Natosha was always in the top 3. She took the lead with 6 laps, a mile and a half, to go and just would not give it up. The Wichita State girl tried to pass her on the second to last lap but Natosha would not let her do it. The Cal girl who was the favorite tried it at the start of the last lap and then on the backstretch and that time Rogers kept accelerating and ran away. Absolutely fantastic.
I remember seeing the designs and it felt like it had some momentum until we moved to the SEC. After that it seems liked it got pushed well behind major football stadium renovations. I wouldn't expect something for at least 5 more years with all the effort it sounds like we are going to put into football facilities such as a stadium, weight room, dinning hall, etc.
And now with Byrne gone, track could loose a lot of its support. We will see who the new AD is, but I could see us still not having an outdoor facility 10 years from now.
Anyone with actual inside information or knowledge of a new outdoor track and field complex?
