Those things are gross; look like we are representing France; plus the damn things were made in China.

Harry Reid says they should be burnt because they were made in China.

The old dog might have finally gotten something right.

It does look like we are representing France.

I have no problem with the style. Sometimes Olympic unis are really stupid. These look classy to me.

I don't like the made in China part. But Harry Reid is an idiot and I would not burn the uniforms. The USOC should NEVER buy uniforms made outside the USA. Sports equipment - maybe - because I bet some of the more exotic stuff isn't available here.

For what it's worth, the USOC isn't funded by the government (unlike most countries). More than likely just another private business trying to keep costs down.

Very, very disappointing. I doubt they will be worn at the opening ceremonies.

Could they make the polo brand any bigger? I would hope that the USOC sold the rights for a lot of money. The advertising and brand exposure to several hundred million people is worth a lot of money. I hope the berets are optional because they look retarded. American Airlines called and they are looking for thier flight attendants uniforms. I am sure they will look better with some gold medals.

I do not see why the USOC pays that company for the uniforms at all. They design it for their own publicity, put huge ass logo on it, and then sell each part of it for $100's of dollars. The USOC needs to get better at negotiations than paying $2k/mens uniform....just so they can make some ugly ass uniform in China and have that companies' logo bigger than the freakin flag.

While they were made in China, I highly doubt they were designed in China. If you don't like the design, you probably have Americans to blame for that.

Ralph Lauren designed them. Since he is an American, I assume designed in the US.

Harry Reid. Schumer and his fellow Dems in the Senate could use their time more effectively if they developed and passed a budget for the first time in three years, rather than ***** about some private secror organization.

http://www.teamusa.org/News/2012/July/13/Statement-regarding-London-2012-US-Olympic-Team-Opening-and-Closing-Ceremonies-uniforms.aspx

The following statement can be attributed to United States Olympic Committee CEO Scott Blackmun:

We take seriously the concerns we've heard from members of Congress and the American public regarding the U.S. Olympic Team's Opening and Closing Ceremonies uniforms.

With athletes having already arrived in London, and the apparel distribution process beginning this weekend, we are unfortunately not able to make a change for London. We are absolutely committed, however, to working with our sponsors to ensure that the concerns voiced are addressed. To that end, Ralph Lauren has agreed to domestically manufacture Team USA's apparel for Opening and Closing Ceremonies for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

In the meantime, we ask for the American people's support. The members of Team USA have dedicated their entire lives to training for this one moment. They are some of the finest men and women this country has to offer and they are prepared to succeed both on and off the field of play in London. Our country should be proud of the individual athletes that will represent them in London and I'm hopeful that everyone will rally around Team USA.
