Krueger officially signed with Octagon Sports Agency in the past week or so. He will also be featured in a technifibre ad coming up soon.

Big loss for the Aggies, but best of luck to Mitchell

Why do I wish him the best again?

I blame this on USTA...

Probably a bad choice. He did well in junior slams but just got slammed in too straight first round pro events.

Great talent but is still getting killed in just futures

Can't help but think that the poor year the men had made the decision to turn pro that much easier. Put yourself in his shoes, if you are one of the best juniors in the world then why would you come to a program that finished 30 in the nation. Probably wishes he signed with USC or Virginia where he could play with other top players on his level and compete for national titles.

^stupid post. The team has nothing to do with it. Lots of young talent

Maybe the reason he is going pro is that he is ranked #5 in the world in juniors and made the semis of two grand slam junior tournaments. Possibly?

Has nothing to do with how the team finished last year. If he wanted to sign with UVA or anyone else, he could have.

edit: wrong information on LOI

Bigfoot you are wrong on both of your comments. Grigirov was ranked as high as #5 in the world and had a very mediocre college career. Never played higher than 4, maybe sometimes 3.

Once Krueger signed with A&M he couldn't go anywhere else. That is why you sign in the first place so you can't go anywhere else unless the coach releases you. Don't think Denton would have done that!

I realized I was wrong about the LOI, had to look it up.

Griggy also played behind some pretty good guys while he was on the team. Not sure what Griggy has to do with Mitchell going pro.

Just because what I say doesn't line up with your OPINION, doesn't mean my comment is wrong.

Also doesn't help the situation that Ward-Hibbert signed to go pro as well

Grigorov also never got past the second round in a junior slam for what thats worth..

Hibbert would have had to wait a year cause of grades

I mention Grigorov because ironically they were both 5 in the world junior rankings. Krueger wants to be a pro so I am sure that he looked at previous players under Denton to see how they have improved. I don't think Grigirov improved at all, how could anyone say he improved at all if he was that good of a junior and never even came close to winning a national title in singles. He never even qualified for the individual tourney. My point is if a junior is looking to turn pro after going to college A&M doesn't have anyone that has even come close to that. A junior should go to a college that has a history of putting players in the pros. Sorry to all of you Denton lovers or A&M fans, but ain't nobody from A&M under Denton has come close!

Rebornaggie in regards to your comment of the team has a lot of young talent. Do you really think that Krueger practicing with Junior Ore and Jackson Withrow is really going to prepare him to be a top professional. They aren't even the best college players in the nation. Don't think they are going to help him get ready for Federer and Nadal!

Is going out and losing every futures match he's ever played except against another amateur (going to be a freshman in college next year) showing he is ready to be a pro. I mean they are futures, not tour events! He is so far from being a top professional.

I wish the kid the best, but he is simply not ready for a few more years.

Got mixed feelings...
Last year the nation's top junior Jack Sock turned pro at around this time too. He had a ranking in the 500s. Kreuger's ranking is nonexistant and that's after playing 14 tourneys!

If the USTA did push Kreuger to go pro, they'd have better give him a WC to US Open.

So who's coming to CS next year? Only Vinsant?

You don't go to college to practice with guys to make you better. You go to play the best in the nation (and in some cases, international players who play college ball) and improve your game.

I love when someone pulls the "Denton Lovers" card. Reminds me of Aggie11 or XIAggie always saying "BK Lover"

I heard the same reborn, but was told by someone that he can't sign a LOI yet, and its up in the air if he goes to college or the tour. I didn't realize he was just going to be a senior this year

This might be my last reply ever on this site thanks to Bigfoot. So to all of you out there that hate me I bid farewell. I just can't keep arguing with people this stupid! You don't go to college to practice with players to make you better might be the dumbest thing that I have ever heard. So I guess you should practice with bad players? Do you not practice to get better and to prepare yourself for the big matches? There are far more days to practice than there are to compete against other schools! So goodbye everyone! The absolute stupidity of Bigfoot is too much for me! Farewell to All!

Slick the problem with some of your posts is that they are wrong. The team has great young talent. For example Jeremy efferding has a higher world ranking than mitchell krueger and junior ore has been ranked top 20 in the ita. Its not like this kid is miles better than everyone else, and would walk in and destroy everyone in practice.

Yes players want to practice with other great players, which is one reason you see so many top 10 kids signing with a&m these last few classes.

Also its really hard in mens tennis to stay at the top because you only get 4.5 scholarships. When a team had 3 seniors taking big scholarships, its only natural you will have a few years with younger players following.

Well that was easy.

No, you don't go to practice with bad players. But I would think a year or two playing some great college players would be way better than getting drilled on the lowest level of the tour. Maybe in wrong.

Like someone said in CS, if he's so good, why not come win a national championship and prove it.

Maybe the Aggie11 or XIAggie comment struck a chord too...

Let's see how Krueger does at 18 Nationals the next 2 weeks. The winner of this tournament gets a wild card to the US Open (Krajicek won this when he was a freshman).

Krueger is top seed. Vinsant and Adams also seeded. I bet Krueger does not win it.

Krueger lost in the quarterfinals today. Vinsant lost in the quarterfinals as well. Harrison Adams lost in the round of 16.

Krueger lost 2,4 to a class of 2014 (a guy 2 years younger)......

Wow.

Kudos to Krueger for playing the back draw after his QF loss.

He was able to bounce back from his main draw loss and beat a 14 y/o in 3 sets, then eventually win the back draw.

Good luck in the pros kid :p
