As was said elsewhere, they're not Western Conference champions ... yet, if at all this year. The conference championship is decided in the playoffs. They're only the top seed, and being the higher seed ain't worked out too well very early in the first round.

Not only did we win tonight, we sent them back to Edmonton with their tails between their legs. Too bad we didn't play with that itensity in the first game. 6:30 starts are gay.

It looks like its going to be a TOUGH series. Great hockey last night, though. Ducks goalie played a hell of a game.

well, it appears that the Stars only lasted a few more minutes than i did -- i went to bed at the end of OT4 cuz i couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

i love the Stars, but i was somewhat relieved to find out that the Ducks won due to the cheesiness of their earlier disallowed game-winner. yes, i realize that rule 57a (or whatever it is) states that a goal can't be scored if the front or back of the net is lifted, but it was still a pretty cheesy call by the replay officials. had we ended up winning the game as a result, it would have had an asterisk next to it just like Hull's "no goal" for the Cup against Buffalo...

look for a Stars statement in game 2, similar to game 2 versus the Oil...

Yeah,

It was really painful to have all the old '99 questionable goal brought up AGAIN. But I too am glad that the Ducks, ended up winning, now the Stars can go on without controversy hanging over their heads.

i fell asleep while watching that game.

A Minnesota-Dallas series would be very interesting in the COnference finals.

not quite the statement i was expecting from the Stars in game 2. we only need to win 4 of the next 5 now...

Crucial win last night. I don't want to complain,but the Stars still don't seem to have it together. If not for Torco's outstanding play, they would be 0-3 this series. I want to see more fire at the start.

and more physical play! hatcher is probably holding back because we can't afford to lose him for 2 games with another misconduct, but morrow seems to be the only one out there who brought his cajones with him. some of the other regularly physical guys need to step up and take the ducks off their speed-finesse game.

props to MT for preserving the 1-goal lead in the 3rd, and awesome control of the neutral zone in the waning moments to keep JSG on the ice!

i thought Mo had a great game last night as well. he never ceases to amaze me with plays like the 1-armed pass to lehtinen and the strength (and, again, 1-armed puck control) he displayed in setting up his own 1-on-1 with JSG in the 3rd.

Man, I almost freaked when that flubbed glove attempt by Hatcher ended up behind Turco at the end.

Solid play by the Ducks and ineptitude by the Stars, who do not deserve to advance with their showing last night.
