I figured with our girls and coach spending that much time with her in London, that we might have a shot, but I guess not? Looks like she committed to Cal and was only looking at Georgia and tu in addition to them. Anybody know why we were not in the mix?

Was Texas really in the mix? I never thought she would go anywhere besides Cal. National champs and they're only getting better. Plus the women's head Olympic coach was the Cal coach. So much in the favor and rightfully so.

I'm sure Steve attempted to recruit her. A&M is just not quite at Cal's level.

Totally agree. Would've been nice to at least get a visit but I can't blame her for her choice. Seems as if UGA and Cal were truly the only two teams in the mix. She didn't even take her scheduled trip to USC.

It's a shame we didn't at least get a visit. I think culture wise A&M would have been a great fit. Missy doesn't have a diva quality and our team seems a lot like her.

I was at the Jamail pool last weekend while Missy was there watching the horn orange-white meet. She was dressed down, smiling, and talking to the team and Capitani. An age group meet was scheduled that afternoon/evening. Once word spread that Missy was ondeck it seemed like every girl between 8-14 years old lined up on one isle overlooking the team to get Missy's autograph. I'm sure the swim shop sold a lot of caps that night because everyone who got their cap signed wouldn't have raced in it. Missy was patient as hell and surely signed hundreds of autographs.

Missy added Texas to her list after Capitani came over from Georgia, so they were a late entry into the conversation.

Does anyone know for sure if we even offered her a scholarship? Just curious. Thanks!

I heard they offered her two scholarships.

They may have offered her books.
