Today we will find out the NCAA seeding and first round tournament locations for the mens and womens tennis teams. The men look like a 10 or 11 seed, and should have a good chance of hosting at that level. The women will probably be in the upper twenties and a number two seed. We may be able to put together a pretty good package to host both events. We will know shortly.

i don't think a team ranked #28 will be a host. the top 16 seeds will get first shot at hosting and if a site is not suitable then it will move down the list. but the good news for the women hosting is that most of the schools in this region are not having great years (tu, baylor, tcu) so the ncaa committee might give the lady ags a host, so this region will have a host.

Cory: That basically is what I was hoping. There will probably be a couple of two seed hosts on the ladies side, and maybe the Aggies will get the nod because of location.

A&M will host a regional. They play U-Maryland in Baltimore first and should play the winner of Georgia and SMU.

If they make it to the Sweet 16, they will play the winner of Vanderbilt/Tennesse Tech/Pepperdine/Miss. St.

Basically, A&M is the 10 seed in the tournament (Vanderbilt is the 7 seed).

I think I heard that the women go to Cal-Berkeley and get LSU in the first round with the winner to play Cal.

There was a switch in the brackets with between SMU and South Florida. South Florida will be coming to College Station as the number three seed to play Georgia.

South Florida is very good. We played them at our conference tourny and beat them indoors, but they are going to give georgia a battle outdoors, and could win that match. i am very glad they swithced out south florida and now we play smu.

Cory- It sucks that TCU plays Baylor second round. I would love to see an upset. Assuming they both advance to the third round, how do you think A&M stacks up against Vanderbilt?

He also was named the top male athlete (or words to that effect) for the entire school, and that award was presented yesterday at noon. He has had a great senior year. Take care.

i am very excited about newp receiving the recognition he deserves. yeah, our draw really sucks. we had a very good chance of advancing with a decent draw. there are 8 teams ranked below us, that got a better draw in the second round. oh well, all we can do is lay it on the line. here is my analysis of your draw. obviously they will get by umbc. then georgia, which has a strong top 2 but are very weak after that. thats why i think south florida could beat them. we just played south florida last week in conference. they don't have any superstars in their top 3, but the are solid. their 4-6 are very tough. so be careful. vandy, is a good draw in the sweet 16. their top 2 are both top 15, so it will be tough. but newp and cook can beat anyone. ante should win and khaled will battle. their 5-6 are pretty weak, which is good for the ags, since you atruggle down low. anway, good luck, and maybe we will see you in athens.
