2nd place in the SEC is pretty good. 11-1 on the road. Beat UT. Hoping they get rewarded by being able to host next weekend. If we don't host then I'm afraid the NCAA may send us over to Austin.

Thank you for posting. Was hoping the volleyball team would get some love after their great season. Most of us have been understandably concerned about the decline of the Corbelli's program so it is nice to see the showing this year. Good luck to them in the tournament.

tu lost to Iowa St. in five tonight, so I'm also hoping we don't get sent there for the first/second rounds. The team they face first will really be in for it.

I think we got screwed having to play in Austin. But maybe proximity is a bigger deal in non-revenue sports. Gonna be a tough route to move on.

Definitely a proximity pairing for the bracket but I'm confident about our team. Going to be a tough road no doubt though.

It's a proximity thing, but good for the Ags. Hopefully we will travel well and represent.

Bummed we're not hosting and have to go through Austin but glad to see the team performing so well.

My congratulations to volleyball as well - that's why the thumbs up despite the loss to tu.

Any of you volleyball experts have an idea what it would take to get a team to get to the "next level". It doesn't appear that the SEC volleyball teams are as good overall as the top teams were in the Big 12, although tu appears to be a power most years. I would have thought that finishing 2nd would have allowed us to be seeded and at least avoid tu for a couple of rounds.

Any thoughts?

That's not so bad. Now they won't fire Elliot and he's a mediocre coach. Good to keep him there.

Mediocre may be a little harsh but the point stands. I think we can pass them as a program with him at the helm. He's a recruiter CEO like Mack.

Delusional

Delusional is right. Elliott is a fantastic recruiter, and he gets fantastic results. Making the final four for four of the past five years doesn't sound mediocre to me. Plus they only lose one player after this season, so next year they are basically the same team with more great recruits coming in. We need to win the SEC next season so we have a chance to host the 1st/2nd rounds and not have to go to Austin again.
