Why do people post on non-varsity sports?

Just curious as to why there are so many posts about intramural and club sports? I always thought this section of the forum was for the other varsity school sports...the sports that are recognized by the university.

I mean, I guess I could post updates on my nephew's little league games, but I doubt anyone would care.....

Geez Big12, some of us participated in the "club sports" and like to know how the current teams are doing. As I have mentioned before, some of those non-varsity teams are recognized across the country and bring credit to our university. Sorry people like you do not understand.

It says "other sports" not "other varsity sports."

I sort of agree with Big XII. I hear this past week that the club Baseball team was hitting up the 12th Man Foundation for funding for their team trip to Florida. I sure don't give my $$ to 12MF for that kind of stuff. I mean, there is a definite line of varsity and non-varsity.

What does a request for funding have to do with posts about the results of "club" activities? If Big12 or others are not interested, do not read the posts. As a Rugby player in the old glory years at TAMU, I appreciate the posts about the current team.

Big XII and others,

As Aggies, I would assume that you "support" the club teams of A&M if only in your heart. I played lacrosse at A&M and choose to support 12th Man Foundation, Former Students Assoc., and the A&M lacrosse team with donations. Their success is well known in lacrosse circles at the club level. (Just finished with a #5 in the National ranking among college club lacrosse teams.)They have finished in the top 10 the last three years. I support all of A&M's teams; varsity and club, vocally and in person whenever I can. I thought that was part of being an Aggie. Please don't fault those of us that choose to post about the sucesses of A&M club teams that do bring positive recognition to Texas A&M. This is the only appropriate place for that info to be posted on this web site and alot of us appreciate the updates and info.

A&M Men's Volleyball Club team was ranked #1 nationally. I don't know how they finished the tourney this year, but they always do pretty good.

I also enjoy reading and learning about other sports, varsity or not, such as Equestrian, Rowing, etc.

Big XII - Please check out the headline on the front page of TexAgs today; a story from USLIA.com re: Ryan Turnbow (a freshman lacrosse player at A&M). This should give credence to my belief that this website is not just for A&M varsity sports, but all A&M sports. It makes sense though that the varsity sports will get 99% of the press and limelight. That is as it should be, but the other A&M sports deserve recognition. Wouldn't you agree?

I agree with supporting ALL aggie athletic teams...I just got sick and tired of sifting through the "weekend warrior" posts. Frat games, corps games, intramurals, etc.

Sifting??? Through what? The two or three threads a week.
