I'll be there along with 36 others from the B/CS Soccer League.

We are meeting at Two Rows beforehand.

For me info, check out the message board at www.bcssoccer.com.

what a dud - 0-0 tie. The only winner was whoever got the profit from the tickets sold. Just underscores why soccer cannot compare to football, baseball, basketball, and hockey.

0-0 tie doesnt mean there wasnt a lot of excitement and passion involved...

It was a friendly. 0-0 is perfectly fine. Very sloppy play, but still very exciting.

Couldn't make the game in person (had too many previous commitments that I couldn't let slide) but watched most of it on TV.

Why do we have absolutely NO ONE on TV in the US who knows how to announce a futbol game in English? It's as bad as if Bill Walton and Calvin Murphy were doing a bball game together! Former players are horrible announcers. We need a young Keith Jackson of futbol. Or bring in someone from the EPL who can speak American instead of English.

One thing the announcers DID get right is that the Mexicans are worried about Landon and Damarcus, and were able to force them into defensive roles. When we've got TWO Landon Donovans and TWO Damarcus Beasleys on the field at the same time, we'll be able to threaten the true world superpowers of futbol.

Our US players are definitely improving as a group. Landon, Damarcus, Bobby ... our sub-25 crowd ... will make us not quite but come close to forgetting Alexi, Cobi, and Marcello. Our goalkeeping has been one of our strengths over the years, but today the BEST keepers in the world are the Americans.

A sad thing is that US women's futbol has been at the top since they were given the chance to play, while our men have to recover from a century of neglect. We're slowly developing our own "American style" of play ... not German, Mexican, English, or Brasilian ... but definitively American.

I went. Too bad it was 2/3 mexico fans. And to make matters worse this is not just a Texas problem. Same thing happens in Chicago. Not the best game i have seen, but fun none the less.
On a side note I hate mexican soccer and all of its fans. What a bunch of dirty whiney pansies. Everytime someone falls over a knee is grabbed, rolling around on the field begins, and chants of profanities begin in the crowd.
They are worse than techtards. [/end rant]

Don't know where you were sitting..but the one row of Mexican fans in front of me and a couple of rows back were great! We talked a lot about the Mexican team and all the changes they have gone through since the World Cup. I even hit Pappasitos (god, I wish they had them here in New Orleans) after the game and talked at the bar with some Mexican fans from San Antonio. They were really fun to talk to about the game. I had a blast..what a great atmosphere! I thought the Mexican team controlled the game with their short passes..but I think the US had much better scoring opportunities...man..if McBride could have just stuck his butt out for that ball...or knee..anything! I had a great time and thought the game was wonderful. I was sitting near the tunnel where the US players came in and out....don't know if any of you guys know..but Freddy Adu was there!!! Arena made a point of stopping after the game to shake his hand. Can't wait to see that guy playing on the national team in about 5-6 years..he is only 13..but they say he is simply amazing!

think there's any chance of Adu playing for the US in Germany in '06?

Doesn't matter where you were sitting. Could you not here the chants of culero through out the stadium? My experience that day began with a mexico fan taking one of those flags they were handing out, putting it on the ground, stepping on it, and talking trash about America.

I over generalized though. We had a pretty cool mexico fan sitting next to us.
I agree on how the game was played, seemed like we had way better opportunities, but they controlled the ball more.

Every Mexican fan around me was great. In fact, there were quite a few that were rooting for both teams.
