Friday through Sunday in Fayetteville, which will also play host to the NCAA Indoor Championships. Should be quite the slugfest with A&M, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, etc.

Friday starts with the multi-event competition, Saturday and Sunday will run the full schedule of events across all disciplines.

Henry and Anderson will be ready. Great coaches and know how to quietly kick arse.

Couple of quick things as indoor winds down and the Ags gear up for outdoors.
Arkansas men and LSU women may be hard to beat in Fayetteville at the SEC's this weekend... Both have solid, balanced teams.
Aggie men probably have a better shot at grabbing the outdoor title.
Hurdler Wayne Davis needs to step it up this weekend as he has not yet run fast enough to qualify for indoor nationals. Track and Field News has picked him to win the outdoor title in Eugene in early June. They also have Ameer Webb (200) and Henry Lelei (steeple)winning their events. They pick the Aggie men to win it all, while they Oregon winning the women's title. According to them Shelbi Vaughn should win the discus and the women's 4x100 should grab the gold.
The same magazine has Arkansas winning the indoor title with Ameer Webb winning the 200.They pick LSU to win the wome's indoor title.
Anyhow, let's hope Pat Henry's kids respond to the challenge this weekend and compete their hearts out!

Jena Hemann and Annie Kunz finished 3rd and 5th i the pentathlon to give us 10 pts after day 1.

A DQ of a the MSU pentathlete in the 800, who would have finished 2nd pumped us up a slot and gave us 2 extra pts.

T1. Arkansas 10; T1. Texas A&M 10; 3. Georgia 8; 4. Florida 5; 5. LSU 3 (edit: Women's scores)

3rd place finish for both the Men and Women in Fayetteville. Henry Lelei men's athlete of the meet with wins in 3K and 5K and anchoring 2nd place DMR. Other titles went to Deon Lendore in the 400, LaQuay Moen-Davis in the triple jump, and the Men's 4x4. NCAA Indoor championships are also in Arkansas and the Ags should grade out pretty well on the predictions leading into the meet.

In an interview on 12th Man TV Pat Henry mentioned Natosha Rogers so I figured she would be competing sometime. But she didn't compete in Cross Country or indoors. I hope she is okay. What she did in May and June last year was remarkable and I hope she can return to that level.

Someone has posted on the Track and Field News web discussion site that Natosha Rogers will no longer compete for the Aggies. No details provided.

The following was in the Eugene Register Guard newspaper website:

Texas A&M has its usual collection of talented sprinters and jumpers, but Henry said the Aggies were hurt by the decision of distance runner Natosha Rogers not to run this year.

Rogers won the NCAA outdoor 10,000-meter title as a junior last year. She was the Olympic Trials runner-up in that event, although she didn’t run at the London Olympics because she didn’t have the Olympic “A” qualifying standard.

“A distance base is so important (at the NCAA indoor meet),” Henry said. “It’s a tough situation for our team. One of the best distance runners in the U.S. decided she doesn’t want to compete anymore.”

I don't understand why we should be searching the entire internet to find out about Natosha Rogers. Why can't the coaches come out and say exactly what is going with her? A statement should be posted on aggie athletics so all track and field fans could know the reason why she is not competeting. She is still on the track and field roster and I understand she has been training.

If Natosha wants the world to know, let her tell the world.

If she doesn't want the world to know, I hope our coaches would never go around her wishes. I think some bad things could happen at that point, and I'd especially hate to see recruiting negatively effected by breaking the trust of and messing up a relationship with one of the program's high profile athletes.

If she is receiving benefits- scholarships, gear, etc...- I would hope the appropriate authorities have discussed her decision to not compete and if its appropriate that she still receive those benefits.
