The men have two pretty good teams coming into Mitchell this weekend. After a disappointing showing at the ITA Indoors we still moved up in the rankings to 14.
Tulsa #17
Tulsa’s record is deceiving at 5-4. They’ve lost close 4-3 matches to Washington (19), Texas (15), and UNC (22). Their other loss came on the road at Oklahoma (5-1). They have wins against Minnesota (40), Illinois (17), Baylor (20), TCU (44), and Arkansas (52). They have only lost the doubles point against Baylor and OU. Last year we lost to Tulsa 1-6 in Tulsa early in the season.
OU #9
OU sits at 7-2 with wins over Harvard (41), Memphis (32), Indiana (32), Tulsa (17), Washington (19), and California (12). Their losses have come against Kentucky (7) and Duke (5). It’s funny to look at their schedule and realize how terrible the conference schedule really was... the Big 12 provides 5 conference versus 11 in the SEC. Talk about a difference! Last year we lost to OU twice in College Station. Both matches were highlighted by their ******bag coach running his mouth the entire match. In the Big 12 regular season match-up we were “lucky” enough to have his brother, Andy Roddick, on hand.
Should be a good weekend of tennis in Aggieland!
