I noticed that he's not at Nitro anymore. Anyone know why and what he's up to now? Thanks.

I heard that he eventually just couldn't conform to the Nitro way. I have also heard that that he was well liked by many because of his personality and attention to racing. He is much older than most of their coaches.

I have met him and like him very much. He was the last guy to beat Mark Spitz in a butterfly race. I wish him the best.

Thanks spicewood. Are you still pretty high on Nitro? I think you said your niece or nephew was swimming there. My kid may start there in the fall.

I am still very positive on Nitro. My nephew swims there and continues to do well. He is happy, as are his parents.

Doug's gold medal 100 fly in Mexico City beating Mark Spitz. And he destroys the East German in the 400 medley relay to put the US in the lead, eventually winning the gold medal.
