Tyson Gay looks to be in amazing form.

My only question is where were some of the bigger names? Ryan Bailey? Carmelita Jeter? Forgive me if they're hurt or something.

Jeter is hurt and has been out for a while. She didn't run at the Penn Relays. You're seeing some of the new big names in the women's sprints - English Gardner and Octavius Freeman in particular.

Jeneba Tarmoh placed 4th in the women's 100m with her second personal best of the day - 10.93 sec.

Jennifer Madu placed 2nd in the Junior div 100m earlier today running 11.87 into a 4.4 wind.

Kamaria Brown just finished her sophomore year and is already miles ahead of where Jeneba and 2-time NCAA champion Porscha Lucas were at the same time in their careers. 22.16 for Brown is an outstanding time, even if it is wind-aided.

Neither Lucas nor Jessica Beard have really done a lot since graduating. Tarmoh really has improved a lot and damn, she's muscled up.

Don't forget Sam Humphreys placing second and making the world team. I agree some of the aggies after graduating have not performed exceptionally well especially Porsha Lucas, Jessica Beard, Gabby Mayo, Simone Facey etc. Most of them haven't run times anywhere close to what they did during time at school. Even some top recruits have been struggling to break through at NCAA like PJ Hardy, Ashley Collier, Aldrich Bailey Mayumbe etc. One of the guys Aldrich Bailey would frequently beat last year at High school level was Armani Hall from Florida who made the World Championship team as a freshmen at Florida. Kamaria Brown is exceptional though. If all our athletes were to be at the top of their game, our track team would be unbeatable. Next year women's team should be very strong if everyone stay healthy and be on top of their game. The men need some of the underclassmen to step up if they are to repeat. The potential is there for a double championship though.
