It seems that Texas women's track team will be a force to reckon with this season with some key transfers due to the hiring of Buford-Bailey. Texas will very strong sprinters especially 400m runners. These transfer has help resuscitated a dying Texas track program
These are some of the major track transfer that took place.

Ashley Spencer ILLINOIS-TEXAS
Morolake Akinosun ILLINOIS-TEXAS
Kendall Baisden a UCLA commit-TEXAS
Dezerea Bryant CLEMSON-KENTUCKY
Kendra Harrison CLEMSON-KENTUCKY
Leah Nugent VA TECH-KENTUCKY
Daje Pugh WASHINGTON-KENTUCKY
Dominique Booker UCF-KENTUCKY
Tynia Gaither UGA-SOUTHERN CAL
Brianna Vaughn UGA-SOUTHERN CAL
James Taylor Norfolk State-TEXAS TECH
Samantha Murphy Illinois to Oregon

Texas will now have 4 top 400m runnners (two 50+ and one 51+ in 400m and the sprinter Moralake NCAa finalist in 100 and 200. Remember the aggies recruited her and at the last minute decided to stay in Illinois and now ends up at Texas.
What makes it interesting they are legible to compete from the indoor season staring January. Normally you sit out a year but I guess arrangement was made and all three can compete for Texas come January. With regards to Kendal Baisden, I cannot say if the Aggies tried to recruit her but she committed to UCLA but is now at Texas.
The Aggies are still good in the 4x100 but Texas looks like the team to beat in the 400 and 4x400.

Kentucky also benefitted from these transfers.

I wonder if the Aggies attempted to get any of these athletes.

The Aggies will have to step up this year with Oregon also being loaded with middle distance and distance runners

Transfers in track have always had the ability to compete right away depending upon getting a release from the school the athlete is leaving. This even applies in conference transfers unless the conference specifically prohibits it. I believe the SEC has a rule for athletes transferring within the conference but it does not apply outside as you can see with Kentucky. One note on the new staff at Texas, their new throws coach is Ty Sevin who was an All-American for us in the '90's. He has been coaching out at the Olympic Training Center in La Jolla.
