I work with kids, and they play kickball a lot, and I've always loved it. I just wanted to know your opinions on whether or not it could be an intramural sport.

I've heard of some adult leagues for kickball. I don't know how popular that really is. Anything is possible if you drum up the interest. Maybe just get enough for two teams and see how much the interest grows from there.

Only problem could be that to get a person out you throw the ball at them. The way people are afraid of liability today, they might be scared of a blow to the head.

I also heard that they were thinking of doing intramural hide and seek.

Some friends and I talked of getting together a huge dodgeball game together. Everyone drop 5 bucks and go buy a 4 square ball and rent out some church's gym for the night. It wouldn't get much better than that.

How about intramural jacks or jump rope?

I know, how about hair braiding or that silly game where you play patty cake really fast.

I LOVE KICKBALL. I held the 4th grade record for consecutive homeruns at Lamar Elementary. I booted 8 in a row over 2 days. I was a kickball stud!!! As far as I know, that record still stands after almost 30 years!!!!

Sorry to inform you that I smoked your record just over a decade ago.

Hold on there, Armchair....not so fast. I did some checking and there is no record of you ever attending Lamar Elementary! However, I did find that a kid in 1979 almost tied the record. It was later discovered he was loading up on Jolt Cola before games and was suspended from competition. So, my record STILL stands. Nice try. And just in case you were wondering, Principal Johnson still has the score sheets he got from Mr. Rowdin that proves my greatness on the kickball diamond. Long Live the KING of KICKBALL!!!!
