As we head into the SEC track and field championship in two weeks, the Aggies seem to poise to do pretty well. However, some of our athletes need great improvement if they are to contribute greatly to the team at SEC, NCAA west regional and NCAA finals.
Since our core points are expected from our sprinters, we need some of our seniors to step up especially those who have running sub–par during the season. Below are a summary of the main events Aggie women are expected to score

Women 100m Top 10 times in NCAA
1 Bryant, Dezerea JR-3 Kentucky 10.96
2 Akinosun, Morolake SO-2 Texas 11.03
3 Prandini, Jenna SO-2 Oregon 11.11
4 Tyson, Keilah JR-3 Kentucky 11.14
5 Brown, Aaliyah FR-1 Texas A&M 11.20
5 Sanders, Shayla SO-2 Florida 11.20
7 Marshall, Ashley JR-3 UC Davis 11.22
8 Burchell, Remona JR-3 Alabama 11.23
8 Ekpone, Olivia JR-3 Texas A&M 11.23
10 Todd, Jasmine FR-1 Oregon 11.25
10 Wise, Katie SO-2 Indiana State 11.25
Only two Aggies in the top 10 100m times this year. Three other Aggies have not performed well this season so far and are not near their PB in this event. Ashlier Collier SB – 11.47 (37th) PB–11.01.She was the pre-season favorite to win the 100m but has been really disappointed so far. Jennifer Madu SB–11.33 (18th) PB – 11.18. Ashton Purvis SB– 11.44 (32nd) PB– 11.20

Women 200m Top 10 times in NCAA
1 Spencer, Ashley JR-3 Texas 22.69
2 Jefferson, Kyra SO-2 Florida 22.78
3 Akinosun, Morolake SO-2 Texas 22.80
3 Ekpone, Olivia JR-3 Texas A&M 22.80
3 Gaither, Tynia JR-3 USC 22.80
6 Francis, Phyllis SR-4 Oregon 22.82
7 Brown, Kamaria JR-3 Texas A&M 22.83
8 Davis, Jessica SR-4 USC 22.86
9 Bryant, Dezerea JR-3 Kentucky 22.88
10 Purvis, Ashton JR-3 Texas A&M 22.95
We have three Aggies in the top 10 in the NCAA. However, Ashley Collier SB 24.11 PB– 22.89 and Aaliyah Brown SB and PB– 23.52 need to improve in the 200m to be a factor

Women 400m Top 10 times in NCAA
1 Okolo, Courtney SO-2 Texas 51.36
2 Spencer, Ashley JR-3 Texas 51.41
3 Francis, Phyllis SR-4 Oregon 51.57
3 Reynolds, Robin SO-2 Florida 51.57
5 Baisden, Kendall FR-1 Texas 51.72
6 Romero, Shapri SR-4 Arizona 51.96
7 Uwakwe, Florence FR-1 UTEP 52.05
8 Little, Shamier FR-1 Texas A&M 52.26
9 Nelson, Briana SR-4 Texas 52.27
10 Tate, Brianna JR-3 Arizona State 52.32
Only one Aggie in the top 10. Kamaria Brown ran only one individual 400m for the outdoor season – 52.97 (31st). She was injured indoors and should be fully fit for SEC. I am not sure if she will do the 200m and 400m double. Janeil Bellille (400m Hurdler) has not run any 400m outdoors but has a 52.58 PB from indoors. Our next senior in this event is Ibukun Maunybe who has a SB of 54.00 and a PB of 52.63. She has not run well so far in the individual 400m but had some good splits in the women 4x400m
Please note that 4 Texas women are in the top 10 and they have been scorching the track this season in all events.

Women 400m Hurdles Top 10 times in NCAA
1 Seymour, Kiah SO-2 Penn State 55.88
2 Little, Shamier FR-1 Texas A&M 56.55
3 Harrison, Kendra JR-3 Kentucky 56.60
4 Okoro, Eseroghene SR-4 Iowa State 56.78
5 Tracey, Nikita SR-4 LSU 56.80
6 Gelibert, Jessica SO-2 Coastal 57.07
6 Hailey, Nnenya FR-1 Arizona 57.07
8 Chase, Chanice SO-2 LSU 57.23
9 Glades, Jamika FR-1 Miami 57.50
10 Dowie, Danielle SR-4 Texas 57.52 2014
11 Bellille, Janeil SR-4 Texas A&M 57.58

Shamier Little is ranked 2nd in the NCAA while Janeil Bellille is ranked 11th. Janeil Bellille has a PB of 55.80 and has not run anything close to this time.

The Aggies are also expected to do well in both relays (4x100 and 4x400), Discus women (Shelbi Vaughn and Long and Triple Jumps (Laque Moen–Davis)
With finals almost done and SEC in two weeks, I expect the Aggie women to fully fit and ready to challenge all comers. Our seniors need to go out with a bang and therefore step up in the upcoming events
Men summary to follow

Aldrich Bailey was injured in the indoors meet and has not run in any outdoor meets. I saw it mentioned somewhere that he is back from injury but it is doubtful if he would compete again this season. He has a 20.66 PB from the indoors.

Men 400m NCAA Top times
1 Lendore, Deon JR-3 Texas A&M 44.90
2 Hall, Arman SO-2 Florida 45.19

9 Norwood, Vernon JR-3 LSU 45.64 LS
10 Dukes, Dedric JR-3 Florida 45.66 UF

Deon Lendore is ranked #1 and is expected to win bar an unsuspected injury. Carlyle Roudette is ranked 13th with a PB of 45.77. Aldrich Bailey may not run but has a PB of 45.19. The next 400m runner is Bralon Taplin who has not run since last year indoors. I don’t know when he will be eligible to compete but he has a PB of 45.36. Imagine what our 400m runners and relay would look like if all 4 guys were eligible and fit. Also Aikan Graham who is a 400m hurdler, ran unattached two weeks ago at Texas State in a PB of 45.97. I don’t his status and why but I guess he is ineligible at this time. Florida has 4 guys in the top 10.

1 Davis II, Wayne SR-4 Texas A&M 13.24
2 Harris, Aleec SR-4 USC 13.32

8 Grace, Bryce SO-2 Baylor 13.64
10 Wyatt, Vincent JR-3 Radford 13.67

Wayne Davis 11 is ranked no. 1 and is expected to win the 110m hurdles. Our next hurdler is the junior Kenneth Minkah who has run a SB of 14.06 (53rd) but has a PB of 13.88 from two years ago. He was a top hurdle recruit in Texas but has not blossomed yet. In fact Minkah represented the US at Tri-Nation meet in Japan in 2011 with a junior PB of 13.62

Men 400m Hurdles Top NCAA times
1 Stigler, Michael JR-3 Kansas 49.35
2 Hayes, Keyunta JR-3 UTSA 49.59

7 Peart, Andre' SR-4 Purdue 50.54
8 Coleman, Gregory JR-3 Texas A&M 50.57
9 Viney, Cam SO-2 Illinois 50.59
10 Lipsey, Javonte SO-2 North Carolina 50.65

Gregory Coleman is ranked 8th in the 400m Hurdles. He has a PB of 50.50 from last year. Kenneth Minkah has run a PB of 52.01 for a rank of 63rd. Aikan Graham has run a few times with a SB of 52.88 but has a PB of 52.22, Not sure of his eligiblility.

We are also expected to score in both 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Other possible events where we might be able to score are:
Mens Pole Vault – Chase Wolfle has a PB of 5.50m and is ranked 10th
Mens Long Jump– Asekun, Olabanji has jumped 7.80m and is ranked 10th
Mens javelin – Devin Bogert has a thrown a PB of 73.01m and is ranked 6th. Sam Hardin has thrown just once this season with a mark of 67.65m and is ranked 36th. I don’t whether he is injured or ineligible.
Mens Discuss- Dalton Rowan has a SB of 57.62m (30th) but has a PB of 59.95m from last year. He needs to throw greater than his PB to be factor

Just to mention that some of the times listed would have been wind aided.
The Aggies would have been a greater force if everyone was fit and eligible to compete. Let see how they perform
